Job Description for Lingo24’s Account Manager for Scandinavia

Lingo24 is a growing and respected UK translation company with major global accounts. It has full-time employees throughout the UK, in Europe, in New Zealand, Panama and in China. The company has around 90 staff worldwide. It is now seeking an Account Manager to join its growing team in Edinburgh to develop Lingo24’s client portfolio in Scandinavia.

Role:

  • Research potential client companies in Scandinavia via the internet and compile data on companies with translation requirements.
  • Make contact by telephone and email with potential customers, identify key decision makers in companies with regular translation service requirements.
  • Lead contacts through the sales cycle for translation services.
  • Maintain relationship with client over time and develop further business from account.
  • Respond to incoming Scandinavian sales enquiries via telephone or our website.

Education and skills required:

  • Native speaker (or near bi-lingual) in at least one Scandinavian language and preferably advanced skills in at least one other Scandinavian language.
  • Excellent English, both written and spoken.
  • Internet research and computer skills.
  • You should have at least a year’s experience initiating, developing and managing business relationships and you should have enjoyed it. You should have a proven ‘nose for an opportunity’.

Benefits:

  • Salary: A rewarding salary plus commission and well-being benefit. Account Managers receive a % of the amount by which they manage to improve Account profitability. They should also receive a % of the profit on accounts they manage, which will vary depending on their level of involvement.
  • Pension and healthcare after qualifying period too.
  • Based: Working from Lingo24’s central Edinburgh office with occasional home working. Travel to our European hub in Romania will also be necessary for training periodically.
